Hi, thanks for visiting my blog!
I am originally from Toronto, Canada and have been living in England for about 5 years now. For my first two years in England I lived in Canterbury, a beautiful city in Kent, while I studied law. After that I moved to London, where I’ve been living for the past 3 years.
I’ve had a difficult time adjusting to London life. I’m sure anyone who has moved to a different country can relate – there are so many little cultural differences that can make you feel out of place! When I’m stocking up for a party, no one knows what a ‘mickey’ or a ‘two-six’ of rum is. When people are reminiscing about their favourite childhood tv shows, I’ve never heard of them.
There have been many times I’ve been tempted to throw in the towel and hop on the next flight back to the Great White North. One day, maybe I will. But, until that day comes, I am going to make the absolute most of the opportunity to live in one of the most amazing cities in the world!
I know a lot of expats in London share my feelings about being away from home, so I hope I can help by sharing my experiences.
If you have your own experience to share or any tips for making the most of living in the city I’d love to hear from you!
